Are you looking to become a Boilermaker? This Occupational Certificate: Boilermaker was developed in collaboration with leading industry experts from the Mining and Minerals Industry, Chemical, Petro-Chemical, Metal, Engineering and related industries. With this qualification you will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to mark off and fabricate structural steel and other metal stock, make or repair metal products and structures — including pressure vessels and pipes. Register now to become a qualified Boilermaker and join the ranks of these prestigious organisations!
The journey to your RED SEAL: This is an Occupational Trade that requires a RED SEAL to practise as a designated Boilermaker as per article Occupational Certificate Article 26D (RED SEAL*)
IMPORTANT: If you don’t meet our minimum entry requirement, you can still apply for special admission, regardless of what formal education you have. Please note that there are terms and conditions for this application, and all approvals will be made at the discretion of the Academic Board.
On successful completion of this qualification, you can articulate into the following:
Qualifying for external assessment: In order to qualify for an external assessment, learners must provide proof of completion of all required modules by means of statements of results and work experience, including Foundational Learning Competence or equivalent.
An external integrated summative assessment, conducted through the relevant QCTO Assessment Quality Partner, is required for the issuing of this qualification. The external integrated summative assessment will focus on the Exit Level Outcomes and associated assessment criteria.
The external assessment model requires that the external assessment will be conducted as a trade test as prescribed under Section 26D of the Skills Development Act, through an evaluation of practical tasks and theoretical questions in a simulated environment at an assessment centre accredited by the QCTO and conducted by an assessor registered by NAMB. The trade test will be conducted over a minimum period of two working days.
